Praise God! By His grace and through your faithful prayers, I safely returned to Korea after completing my ministry trip to the United States.

Soon after arriving, I met a North Korean escapee woman whose story deeply moved me.

During North Korea's famine in the 1990s, she lost twelve family members to starvation, including her parents, siblings, husband, and children. Thirty years ago, she escaped to China with her younger brother and sister—among the only surviving members of her family. Later, her brother disappeared and is presumed to have died.

Recently, she miraculously discovered that her younger sister was still alive. For the past thirty years, her sister had been trapped in China after being sold into a forced marriage. When they finally reconnected, her sister begged through tears, "Please help me escape this living hell and find freedom.”

Having followed Caleb Mission's rescue ministry for many years, this woman came to see me as soon as she heard I had returned to Korea. Through tears, she shared her story and asked for help rescuing her sister.

Over the years, I have heard many heartbreaking stories through North Korean ministry. Yet hearing about a family that lost twelve loved ones to starvation and seeing only two sisters remain alive was especially painful.

One sister remains trapped in China. The other lives in freedom in South Korea. Their story reminds us of the ongoing suffering caused by a divided Korea and the urgent need to continue this rescue work.

We are committed to doing everything we can to help bring this sister to freedom.

At the same time, I am grateful to share that while I was in the United States, three North Korean escapees were successfully rescued and are now receiving discipleship and biblical training at our Southeast Asia Safe House.

Through Caleb Mission, God continues to save lives, plant the Gospel, and raise up future leaders for North Korea.

Thank you for your faithful prayers, generosity, and partnership. Together, we are witnessing God change lives and prepare the way for His Kingdom.

In Christ's love and service,

Pastor Seungeun Kim
