Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with you. Through your prayers and intercession, I have been able to carry out my journey here in the United States faithfully. Even while I am here, our mission work for North Korean escapees continues. At our Southeast Asia center, many of our North Korean escapees are accepting the gospel and preparing to come to South Korea. Your continued prayers are desperately needed. I am also deeply grateful for your prayers as I work here in America to raise awareness of the human rights situation and to share the gospel.

I am currently at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Being here has moved me deeply. During the Korean War, many of these young American soldiers did not even know where Korea was or who the Korean people were, yet they came to defend freedom and democracy. They were brothers, sons, and fathers, and they made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of the Korean people. I bow my head in respect to them. The fact that we can share the gospel today is proof of their sacrifice. Because they defended freedom and democracy, the gospel could be proclaimed. North Korea, under communism, does not allow any gospel to be received. This is why we must once again recognize how precious freedom and democracy truly are.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation, and that is why I came here. Recently, however, China’s Xi Jinping, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and North Korea’s Kim Jong-un gathered to commemorate the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in World War II. This gathering gives me deep concern, because it is obvious what these three communist nations intend to do.

I fear that the forced repatriation of North Korean escapees from China may begin again. Did Kim Jong-un ask China to resume this? If so, the lives of North Korean escapees will surely become even more difficult and desperate. That is why we must pray even more earnestly—to save one more life, to share the gospel with one more soul. In this mission, your prayers and intercession are most precious. Our nation must be saved, and our people must take the lead in world evangelization.

This is why I have come to the United States. Today, standing before the sacred memorial of the Americans who gave their lives, I lift up prayers, express my gratitude to them, and chose to share this message with you through this newsletter.

Dear brothers and sisters, the U.S.–Korea alliance is important, but the mission of reaching our nation with the gospel is even more important. I bless you as you continue in prayer, and I earnestly ask that your prayers will be used to save lives and bring the gospel to those who have never heard. Thank you.

In Christ’s love and service,

1. Heavenly Father, please raise up faithful ministry partners for the work in the United States, and may every testimony-sharing engagement here bring glory to You alone.

2. God, may Caleb Mission serve as a strong source of hope for North Korean escapees, and may all glory be given to You through the work of saving souls.

3. God, strengthen the ministers of Caleb Mission so that they will not grow weary but remain steadfast in prayer. May Your power and grace also rest upon the supporters and their families, so that together they may accomplish what is good according to Your will.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen
