Caleb Mission Newsletter 💌 The Fourth Week of October

Hallelujah! May the grace and peace of God be with you.

Thanks to your faithful prayers and intercession, I safely returned to Korea last Saturday after completing our ministry trip to the U.S. I’m deeply grateful for every prayer that covered this journey.

This week, our North Korean rescue operations are set to begin again, and we especially need your prayers.Many escapees—particularly women hiding in China—are facing severe challenges as border patrols have become even tighter. Please pray that those longing for freedom will be able to escape safely under God’s protection, and that the three months of Bible study and discipleship training afterward will go well and help them grow in faith.

I also want to share a personal prayer request.

After 27 years of ministry, my wife and I are taking our very first sabbatical—a short, 12-day break in mid-November. Over the years, we’ve faced many hardships and challenges, but we’ve rarely had time to truly rest together as a couple. Even though it’s a brief time, I’m so thankful that we can pause, reflect, and simply be together.

Please pray that this will be a time of spiritual renewal and restoration, so that we can return re-energized and ready to continue God’s work—rescuing North Korean escapees and sharing the gospel until the day of reunification.

Even as we plan this time of rest, our hearts remain with the ministry. Please continue to pray for our Southeast Asia Center, which serves as a refuge and transit point for escapees. This center requires the largest portion of Caleb Mission’s financial resources, but we trust that the God who has faithfully provided until now will continue to meet every need.

Your prayers and partnership make this ministry possible—a place where more North Korean brothers and sisters can find freedom and hope.

We’re deeply grateful for your continued love, prayer, and support. Let’s continue to pray together for God’s kingdom to advance.

1. Heavenly Father, please protect the North Korean escapees waiting to escape from China. Help them reach freedom safely and find new life through the gospel.

2. God, may those at the Southeast Asia Center encounter You, be renewed in Jesus, and may Your grace and protection cover everyone serving them.

3. God, bless Pastor Kim and his wife during their first sabbatical in 27 years. Fill their time with Your presence and deep spiritual renewal for the ministry ahead.
