Caleb Mission Newsletter 💌 The First of September
Hallelujah! I pray that the God of peace will be with each of you. As summer comes to an end and September begins, we enter a season of harvest. We are especially thankful for the spiritual fruit God continues to bring through Caleb Mission.
We are grateful to see North Korean escapees being rescued, trained, and equipped to serve as pastors and ministry leaders, while others are settling into new lives and becoming meaningful members of society.
All of this is possible because of God’s faithful grace and because of your prayers, intercession, and partnership. As we enter the final months of this year, we ask you to continue standing with us in prayer.
Rescue work in China is becoming increasingly difficult. Authorities are intensifying their efforts to find and arrest North Korean escapees, while the escapees are forced to hide more carefully. Even so, God continues to open doors for rescue. Seeing those who are rescued come to faith in Jesus Christ remains one of our greatest joys.
During our recent 20th anniversary celebration, we worshiped together with North Korean pastors and ministry leaders and were reminded again of God’s greater vision for North Korea. We are thankful that He continues to use those who have not bowed their knees, even under oppression.
At our North Korean Refugee Center in Dogo, we are also seeing a physical harvest. Sweet potatoes, peppers, and other crops are now being gathered, while napa cabbage is already being planted to prepare kimchi for the winter.
The cabbage we plant today will take about 70 days to harvest. In the same way, we believe God’s work requires us to plant faithfully now and trust Him for the harvest in His time.
Our prayer is that one day we will hear the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
New rescue efforts are already beginning. Please continue to pray for the North Korean escapees, for every rescue underway, and for God’s protection and guidance.
Please also pray that God will provide for every need of this ministry, including the financial resources to continue the work. Thank you for standing with us in prayer and partnership.
